The newly-established Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS) is a new analytical platform in Belarus to enhance dialogue among experts and the society, democratic forces and authorities as well as international community. With the establishment of BISS the Pontis Foundation can conclude the first part of its efforts to strengthen capacity of independent analysts in Belarus.

BISS in cooperation with Belarus Public Policy Fund has announced a call for proposals (also in the website) for small grants to further stimulate the public policy research and foster the public policy debate in the country.

Vote rigging, street demonstrations, political intimidation and the arrest of opposition candidates are among the incidents that put Belarus in the spotlight of the European media in March 2006. The exhibition is intended to recall the events that accompanied the Presidential elections and help visitors understand the situation in Belarus today.

 

Nordic Council now has opened the second call for scholarship applications within the frames of the NCM/EU project “Access to Higher Education for Belarusian Youth”. The scholarships are given for studies in Ukraine. The deadline is the 15 May.

The International Association Civic Belarus, legally established in 2005, strives to achieve universal support for democratic initiatives and diverse ways of developing civil society in Belarus.
